The Mifflin County Regional Police Department is a
full service law enforcement agency that provides 24 hour
police coverage to the municipalities that comprise its
jurisdiction. The Mifflin County Regional Police have been
dedicated to serving the communities needs since its
inception in 1993. The Mifflin County Regional Police
Department strives to provide excellent service through
community oriented policing and proactive patrol. The
department is committed to the idea of regional policing,
which is an effective and cost efficient method of providing
police coverage to the municipalities that have joined. The
department currently serves 7 municipalities, Lewistown
Borough, Burnham Borough, Derry Township, Bratton Township,
Brown Township, Union Township, Armagh Township and also
patrols the Mifflin County Housing Authority. The department
is responsible for over 260 square miles of jurisdiction and
provides service to over 31,000 residents. The department
currently employs 26 sworn officers, who have been trained
in many different fields, such as criminal investigation,
narcotics, traffic safety, school resource, D.A.R.E.,
bicycle patrol and many other specific fields.
